Data domain initial seeding with tapes

Hi!

Our customer has the following scenario:

DD2500 on primary site

DD670  on remote site

however the interconnect link is quite slow between the two sites

and customer want to syncronize approx 15 tb data on a slow link (100 mbit).

We use pool replication and we use Networker at both site.

We have two identical Networker server on both side.

My questions:

- How can we transfer 15 Tb data from primary site

to secondary site as fast as possible?

(DD670 or DD2500 cannot move, and we dont have third DD)

- Can we use tapes on primary site and transfer it to the

secondary site and add to the pool?

- Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot:

If those tapes contain data that would see second DD, you would need to scan them first (if second server is not aware of them) and then restore it and have it backed up to second DD.  It sounds to me that replication as it is would still be faster.
