Is 800-456-3355 a valid Dell number?

I received a call from the number 1-800-456-3355. The guy on the line told me to send him an email with the confirmation number of my purchase on it (he provide me the confirmation number which is match to the confirmation from valid Dell email) from my second email (which is my school email) to his email to confirm my order. Is number 1-800-456-3355 actually valid and the email with @Anonymous.com domain valid?

Any email with anonymous is ALWAYS suspect. All legitimate Dell email end with Dell.com. This sounds like a scammer might be "spoofing" our legitimate phone number and email address. When you receive an email, hover the mouse over the email address to see its real source. Or right click it to see the source.

Call and email spoofing is the practice of falsifying the information about an incoming call or email. Scammers will manipulate the call or email so that it appears to be coming from Dell making it more likely to be trusted or answered.

I had this same issue, except I received a phone call with a voicemail. The caller told me that I was having a power supply issue with my Alienware computer, and was able to name my specific model and my Service Tag. I did, in fact, have a real power supply issue with this computer several months back. I called the number but was instead connected to a scam medical device hotline.

On second inspection, I may have called 1-800-546-3355 instead of 1-800-456-3355
