Hewlett-Packard Virtual Connect in CMCNE

Hi all,

My Brocade SAN's include lots of HP C7000 servers with Virtual Connect (NPIV). When CMCNE discovers these, it lists them as Access Gateways because they're doing NPIV. Since CMCNE can't log in to a C7000, it shows their status as not reachable. I'm sure it's harmless but it feels a little disconcerting to see so many "not reachable" products in CMCNE--a total of fifty-something across all my SAN's.

Is there any kind of override that can say, "Silly CMCNE, these aren't Access Gateways! You aren't supposed to be able to log in, so stop trying to and stop reporting them as not reachable."

If there's no such override, is there any way to make CMCNE simply undiscover them without undiscovering any of the real switches in the same fabrics? If that can be done, what kinds of unintended consequences could follow from taking the Virtual Connects out of CMCNE?

Thanks, everyone!

EMC Support has told me that the way to get these C7000's out of CMCNE is to tell CMCNE to stop managing them. We expect no unintended consequences, since CMCNE has never been able to log in to them in the first place, but only time will tell....
