FABRIC MANAGER SERVICE WILL NOT START -TIMEOUT

Hello,

I inherited our FM environment for our MDS switches. We use a stand alone version. Today, I can no longer access my fabrics through FM. I am getting a timeout error and cannot start the gui. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I have the same thing, but that's because I have multiple switches which I can't reach over tcp/ip. I used to use FM version 4 dot something, but since version 5.4 I no longer get timeouts, but I know they're happening, because starting the GUI takes 10 to 15 minutes. Once I'm in, I leave it open for the rest of the day . You can shorten the timeout values from the default 300 sec to for example 120 seconds to speed up the start up of the GUI. Works for me. You can change this in the second TAB of FM, where you can also edit logon credentials.
