Cisco Link Failure Alert Configuration

Hi All,

We have Cisco 9513 Director, and we have all our storage device FA connected to one modules and the servers are connected on a seperate module. Is there a way i can configure the link failure alerts for  a specific module alone on a a cisco switch to which the storage fa ports are connected.

Whereas i dont want to enable the link failure alerts for the entire switch. Please advice .

Regards,

Naresh

Hi Naresh,  I've moved your thread to the support forums infrastructure connectivity where it should get prompt attention. Thanks.

you can setup MDS to send errors to syslog, i am sure you can get creative with syslog where you only monitor specific modules.

You can (or could in older MDS) disable link state traps on the ones you don't want to see.  It will still show as "down" if you are polling but if you are using traps you can disable the traps for particular interfaces.  A quick google of "mds cli snmp" will get you this info.
