BNA showing new Switch but status "Not Reachable"

Hi All,

I have recently added 2 new Brocade 6520 Switches into the fabric, i can login them and when ran Fabricshow command it's showing all the switches in the Fabric, also i can see these in the BNA Switch Group on Both the Fabrics,.

But the new Switches status bar showing as "Not Reachable", also the Fabric A/B status also showing as "Not Reachable"

Is this something do to with miss any configuring step at ISL? or on the Switch itself?

attached screen grab of Fabric B, for your reference, it's same case with Fabric A as well.

Hello santhumax,

I would update BNA to the latest version that is supported by your switches.  Did you gather a switch log prior to adding the new switches to the fabric?

Hello santhumax,

It is best to open a support case so that we can review your switch logs to see what is going on with the 2 new switches that were added.

Hi Sam

the issue is these devices are out of support, that's why searching for a solution here.

the BNA is not the latest one it's11 version.

apart from BNA switches are fine via CLI, fabricshow command shows all switches in fabric and can reach them and also can ping these not reachable switches from other switches without any issue.

Thanks,

santhosh

Hi Sam,

i just did the same yesterday evening, updated the BNA to 14.2.1 (that's the latest one able to download from Internet), and this solved the issue.

I am trying to get 14.4.1 that seems the last BNA version brocade released which is also EOL.

any help finding this peace of software would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Santhosh

Hello santhumax,

I am not able to find BNA 14.4.1.  All I am coming up with is san nav which replaced BNA.

Hi,

BNA is not available anymore, it is End of Support Life since 31 Jan 2022.

Hi Santhumax,

Unfortunately, we do not support BNA, which is the Brocade version, we did support the legacy EMC version, CMCNE.

Both went End of support life, with Broadcom and with us (31 Jan 2022). The current Broadcom San management application is SANnav, which is installed on Linux OS.

A Support Service ticket will not be honoured, (all depending on contract…) and you also will not find any version on the website anymore.

The problem on your screenshots can have multiple reasons, for this your best option to troubleshoot your issue would be to login the Dell support site with your business account and search the knowledgebase on “CMCNE” and “switch not reachable”, there should be plenty of KBA’s related to the issue.

The knowledgebase articles are not purged and still available for self-help.

Regards,

Ed
