Proper factory reset for SCv3000

We have a used SCv3000 with all of the previous owners information and credentials.   I have 100% physical and console access to this box, and have been searching for the correct method.   We currently do not have Dell support on this, as it is for our lab enviroment.   I've created the small usb containing the unlock.phy file but was not successful.   Any suggestions?

Hi,

The unlock.phy procedure is for those who cannot access the controller. You mentioned you have the credential access to the storage, can you try this method: https://dell.to/3THDIEj

If this doesnot work, you may need to call to support to open a case up for a factory reset process. I do understand that you mentioned you do not have Dell support contract, but only the Senior or Master level Support Engineer can reset the storage.

It appears finally after trying numerous times that the USB reset tool worked.   I can now use Admin/mmm

So next, now that I have access to the CLI - what are the commands that need to be issued to completely wipe this SAN back to an out of the box experience?

Hello,

Reset a Controller to Factory Default

Please note that resetting the SCv3000 to its default settings will erase all configuration settings, including network settings, storage pools, volumes, and any data stored on the system.

Thanks - any way to issue commands from CLI?  When I connect vis the DSM to the controller - it says

Please connect to the leader controller's IP address to perform initial configuration

Only 2 IPs show up in a scan on this isolated lan, and I assume the one with the http port is the primary controller.

What is the command to show the controllers IP from CLI?

Hello,

You may try these commands:

show controllers

Or

show controller-ip

I'll note, as Joey said: This procedure should be performed by a Senior or Master level Support Engineer

I am blocked from finding more information.

I understand you may not be under warranty so you could contact Sales and ask for a Post Standard Support contract to work the issue with Senior level support.

I would recommend to transfer ownership of the system to your name.

Interesting enough - I was able to connect to the IP via the Dell Storage Manager Client, and it prompted me to change the password, and proceed with Launch Initial Configuration.   I had hope!   Then it errors on every attempt to save config with...

Also I attempted running at CLI level the __setup__ user I get this message on BOTH controllers, same time.  I have two console cables, going to each, COM4 and COM8 respectively, and BOTH report the following message.  What gives?

The Dell Setup Utility must be executed from the primary controller.
For unjoined systems this is the top controller.
For joined systems this is the lead controller.

Hello,

I need to correct the link I posted:

Beyond the information provided, I don't have much more to provide.

These steps are not public. This procedure should be performed by a Senior or Master level Support Engineer.

The commands and workarounds are intended to be performed by escalation personnel only.
