Migrate existing Storage Manager Data Collector OVA/VM to new - keep IP address
We've had VMWare tools issues on our existing Dell Storage Manager Data Collector VM for a while, to the extent we can't even set a time zone setting because the tools are corrupted
I've deployed a fresh VM from OVA matching the current version (VA 20.1.10.79), which has the VMWare tools installed and allows us to update to the latest available in our environment without issue
The wizard allows 'Migrate from an existing Data Collector', put in the IP of the current live one along with the admin credentials then the next screen just relates to ports and the next screen shows database 'Microsoft SQL Server' (this is correct) with no further options to configure other than clicking Finish which I didn't go for yet
If we go ahead with the migration is it just a case of letting it run then we can shut down the existing live VM and change the IP on the new VM to match up with what it was previously? Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
Many thanks

Hello jround01,
I'll note first I don't have a lot of experience with Dell Storage Manager and Live Migrating but I can see if I can help.
Are these the steps you are using?

I do see this note in the Release notes. You may want to contact support directly.
On rare occasions, when a vVol VM is migrated from one vVol datastore to another, a config or data vVol might become orphaned on the original datastore.
This vVol counts against the total vVol scale and takes up unnecessary space.
*Contact technical support to handle the removal of the VM.
