Compellent SC9000

Trying to add a newly built host to the storage manager but it is throwing an error saying

"MappingServer" has reached the maximum object count of 500.

In Storage Manager, numbers look OK and servers do match those in Virtual Server Manager..

If I go to the 'Dell EMC Unisphere Central', under Storage, Servers, I see multiple duplicates of VM names on different hosts.

It is obviously not cleaning up or updating itself.

I did find in the document how to Enable/Disable Automatic Management of servers which is enabled. But it appears that it is not doing what it's supposed to be doing:

Enable or Disable Automatic Management of Storage Center Server Objects
You can configure Storage Manager to automatically create and manage the server and hosted virtual servers on the Storage
Centers to which it is connected.
Steps
1. Click the Servers view.
2. Select the server to edit in the Servers pane.
3. In the right pane, click Edit Settings. The Edit Settings dialog box appears.
4. Configure automatic management settings for the Storage Centers to which the server is connected.
● To automatically create and manage the server on the Storage Centers, select the Auto Manage Storage Centers
check box.
● To automatically create and manage virtual machines hosted by the server on the Storage Centers, select Auto Manage
Virtual Machines On Storage Centers.
5. Click OK.

Any other ideas?

I have found a way to remove the entries and it all looks goo now.

In Storage Manager, Storage, Servers and under each host, select and delete all the VM's.

Thanks.

Hello Latif,

You will need to remove all the duplicate entries so that you can add the new host.  you need to make sure that your volume mappings are definitly goint to the host and not directly to vm's or you will loose your mappings to your volumes.

Hi Sam,

Volume mappings are definitely going to the hosts only.

How do I remove duplicate entries myself as I do not see the option to do so.

Thanks.
