Hi @zhwdon,

The DPN# 5MGN8 is not suitable for SC4020. It seems it is only for SC2000 series.

A disk from a SCv like SCv20x0 or 30x0 will never work within a SC.   Disk for a SCv have another price point as for the normal Compellents and will not work in non SCv and as a additional challenge there is the licensing per disk system of Compellent.

The version of SCOS can also matter.... think about a very old version and a new disk like a 3.84 or 7.68TB one. This is a reason why selling additional stuff for a complellent can be a huge job for me as a compellent partner.

The other way around will work...disk from a non SCv can work within a SCv.

Regards,
Joerg

Hello zhwdon,

Could you post for me a picture of the drive(s) label and I can see if the Dell drive is validated for the SC4020?

Have you tried Scan for New Disks?

Hi @zhwdon,

Would you mind take a picture of the drives' label for us to check on the information of the drives if it's validated for SC4020.

For me it looks like that these disks comes from another Compellent system or they was already in use and not remove properly.
