Hello Jaydee_23,

It sounds like it is a hard drive that does not have SC firmware.

Can you post a picture of the drive label and the label of the one you are replacing?

I may be able to find some detail.

My recommendation would be to call in to support and they can gather your information to quote you a compatible drive.

Hello Jaydee_23,

I'm unable to get the attachments.

Could you attach them again?

Did you specify SC firmware on the drive you purchased?

Hi @Jaydee_23,

The drive you have there, RWV5D is not compatible with SC8000.

Also, did you pull this drive from an Equallogic storage?

Hello @Jaydee_23,

I am sorry, but it seems a compatibility problem. RWV5D is not a compatible disk with SC8000. I suggest contacting back with the Dell partners and make sure they provided a disk compatible with SC8000.

Regards.

Hi Diego

Good Day.

Where I can download or find the list of the hard drive compatibility matrix for SC 8000?

Regards

Hi @Jaydee_23,

The SC8000 is connected to another storage enclosure right? SC8000 does not have any drives installed on its own chassis as it is a controller itself. Can you check if the drives is connected to another enclosure, like SC220 or SC280.

Pls. conect the sc2000 with a serial console and issue the below command

disk show

Actually the new disk of 0RWV5D is compatible with SC8000. I guess the reason why SC8000 regarded it as external disk 1) the disk was not sc certified. It might be equallogic. 2) has the foreign array information. anyway you can show me the "disk show" command to check the actual disk status.

I guess your 0RWV5D disk was came from Dell Equallogic system instead of compellent.  DELL PS and SC storage disks are not compatiable even they have the same disk lable and firmware.
