Customer wants direct upgrade from 7.5 b198 appliance to 10.0 SP3.1 VE
Customer wants a direct upgrade from 7.5 b198 appliance to 10.0 SP3.1 VE. Is this even possible? I have never personally worked on the 7.x version but I would think it would be better to upgrade the appliance to 10.0 SP3.1 and then backup the config and restore it to the VE nodes.
Anyone have any experience with this? Unfortunately the cusotmer has allowed the appliance to reach EOSL so they are on their own. As they read the upgrade document they think that you can backup a 7.5 appliance and use the resulting file to restore a 10.0 CTA VM.
Thoughts?

Hope you are doing great.
Please take a look at my below suggestions in order for the customer to reach 10.0 SP3.1 VE from a 7.5 b198 physical appliance.
- The upgrade path would be as follows 7.5 b198 -> 7.5 P6 (b226) -> 10.0 Sp3.1
Step 1: The customer should upgrade the CTA 7.5 b198 to 7.5 b226 (P6)
Step 2: Migrate to CTA 7.5 b226 VE(P6) (Virtual Edition) from CTA 7.5b226(P6) physical appliance.
Step 3: Upgrade CTA 7.5 b226 VE to CTA 10.0 SP3.1 VE.
