Navisphere agent for Mac Server OSX10.9

Hello, i was wondering if anyone would tell me if connectivity between Clariion CX3-20 and Mac server OSX10.9 is possible. Also, direct me to where i can download the Navisphere agent to connect to it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If under Connectivity Status column "Registered" says No ..you need to register that initiator.

Thanks Dynamox, question though..can you shed some light as to how to register the mac server's HBA manually? The Mac server is a Mac Mini and a SANLINK2 device connects to fibre through thunderbolt. It is connected to a Brocade 5000 SAN switch and zoned up with SPA and SPB of the Clariion. If you could let me know how I can go abouts registering it manually on the Navisphere. Thank you.

Thanks for the steps, however i have one question. I found where i need to go to do this, but i see that under SPA and SPB the same hba for the Mac server appears and the hba appears under hosts, if it appears under hosts do i still need to register it? I am attaching pics of my host list and connectivity status under Navisphere manager. Let me know.

Thanks for your quick response, I think I’m a bit closer to finishing this. The initiators both show as registered now, but before I put it behind me I’d like to see if you could shed some light as to why under Hosts I have a few servers that are connected but show as “host agent not reachable”. Have I misconfigured something or is this normal?

i would not worry about the agent status, it's been flaky for years. It could be that the SP is trying to communicate with the agent on the host and the host firewall is blocking it. As long as everything is registered and logged-in you should be good to go.

Thanks Dynamox I’ll go ahead and test by adding the LUN and host to the storage group. You’ve been great help. Now I’ll move on to the next question I asked about the swapping of FC/SATA drives. I’ll get back on the community in regards to that question.

Thank you.

FYI - I don't think there is an EMC Host Agent for MAC

Dynamox,

I am having a similar issue with a mac server unable to register after it was zoned. I checked and it has "Promise SANLink2" HBA. Looking at your connectivity document, I don't see that listed. Does that mean it is not supported?

Thanks

-Dan

as long as it's logged-in, you can manualy register it.
