Migrate LUNs from CX4 to VNXE 3200
i need to migrate our near end of life cx4 to a new vnxe but the vnxe will need to use the existing fiber channel switches. the fiber channel switches are brocade and have some age on them (there are 2). what would be the best approach to migrate this data with minimal downtime?

SANCopy appears to be a possibility. If you're using PowerPath for your hosts, PowerPath Migration Enabler (PPME) is another option. PPME has limitations, just as SANCopy does, so I would recommend a small test before pulling the trigger.

We have a CX4 we're migrating to a VNX5400, also a pair of Brocade switches (5100s); I'm using SANcopy.
You have to watch your zoning, make sure you have at least one path from each SP of the source to the same SP of the destination; you can't use any ports that have mirrorview activated on them either.
Two other things: push vs pull and full vs incremental.
So far I've got 4 LUNs that are copying over, via a push, incrementally (rather than a "full") , so I can just sync them periodically until I'm ready to make the switch final.
With an incremental push, you don't have to down the source LUN and users can continue to access it, so you don't have hours of downtime; any other combination means downtime for the full duration of the LUN copy operation.
