Cisco & Brocade zoning

Hi,

I have few questions on the fulll distribute zoneset database

1. If I confiugre zone and add the zones to the activezoneset , should i need to execute zoneset full distribute command ? or it does gets automatically across all the switches in the fabric.

2. In brocade zoning do we have anything that does similar to cisco zoneset full distrubute to make the database accessible across all the switches

3. Also if i execute the command # sh zone status vsan id on the edge switch

I see the value as distirubte: read only

If  create a zones here and add to the active zoneset does it gets distributed automatically ?

1) Check if your VSAN has full distribution enabled, line 2 below distribute:full (in my case)

c9513a1# sh zone status vsan 114

VSAN: 114 default-zone: deny distribute: full Interop: default

    mode: basic merge-control: allow

    session: none

    hard-zoning: enabled broadcast: unsupported

    smart-zoning: enabled

    rscn-format: fabric-address

Default zone:

qos: none broadcast: unsupported ronly: unsupported

Full Zoning Database :

    DB size: 24096 bytes

    Zonesets:1  Zones:132 Aliases: 12

Active Zoning Database :

    DB size: 12920 bytes

    Name: UnivA  Zonesets:1  Zones:145

Status: Activation completed at 16:10:30 EST Jan 12 2015

3) on my edge switch it says the same thing i have in my example. I enabled full zone distribtuion there as well so that i could zone from any switch in the enviroment and these changes would propogate to other switches that have that VSAN.
