USB-C HDMI adapter for Chromebook 5190 2-in-1?
I want to show presentations on a large LCD TV. Is there a USB-C to HDMI video adapter that's compatible with the Chromebook 5190 2-in-1 (Quad Celeron)? Does a DA200 work, at least for video over HDMI? Thanks.

@Jim_Soriano video output over USB-C uses an industry wide standard called DisplayPort Alt Mode, so you don't need a specific type of adapter. Any USB-C video cable/adapter would work (and yes HDMI adapters work even when the source system is sending DisplayPort, because the HDMI cable/adapter in that case contains a converter chip). However, it does require that the system actually support video output over USB-C, which is optional in the USB-C spec, not mandatory -- and not all systems with USB-C ports support video output through them. Looking at the Chromebook 5190's product page, there's no mention that its USB-C ports are capable of video output, and Dell typically mentions that capability when it exists. If the system doesn't support it, then the only way you'd be able to present to an external display/TV would be through casting to a device like a Chromecast.
If on the other hand the system DOES support video output over USB-C, despite that not being explicitly mentioned, then yes the DA200 would work. Even if the built-in Ethernet adapter didn't work (which it might not depending on whether Chrome OS has drivers for it), the video output would. Note however that the DA200's HDMI output is limited to 1080p. The newer DA300 can handle higher resolution output.

Good news - I validated the proper operation of a Dell DA200's HDMI output at 1080P to my 37" LCD TV using my 5190 2-in-1. Thanks for your comments.
