Replace Windows with Chrome

Service Request & Recommendation of Chrome OS Compatibility with Inspiron 3573:

(1) Are Google Chrome os & Corel WordPerfect compatible with Inspiron 3573?

(2) If recommended by Dell could the service upgrade & installation be accomplished?

Chrome OS isn’t officially supported. But you might want to look into Neverware CloudReady. They give you a way to install Chrome OS to a flash drive and then boot your system from that flash drive. That gives you a way to test whether it will work on your system before you commit to installing it onto the actual hard drive. But the hard drive install option doesn’t support dual booting, FYI.

Corel WordPerfect compatibility would be based on the Windows version you’re using, not your system model. But I run WordPerfect 12 and it works fine on the latest version of Windows 10. I don’t think they have a version that runs on Chrome OS though.

Dell does not provide install and upgrade services for requests like this.

Thanks much! The information provided is very useful although it defeats my plan & now I must reconsider my options.

FYI With a little more research I’ve discovered the Inspiron 3000 series is compatible with Linux os Ubuntu 19.04 (latest version) and WordPerfect ... this is an ambitious project to install a new OS  and not uncommon as there are lots of instructions online & how to videos as guide. Linux continues to grow with a positive reputation upgraded 32 to 64 bit - I’m getting caught up on new technologies & appreciate your feedback it sparked further research & a new solution!

There's another way to install chromium os. Install linux mint and then use a script to convert it to chromium:

Or you can use fydeos, neverware cloudready, or nayuos. I had to try each one and got neverware cloudready 94.4.4 booting from usb and installing on my dell latitude 7470.

Here's how I got cloudready working on the dell latitude 7470:

I had to enable EFI booting, leave secure boot disabled, disable the tpm chip, press f12, select the usb drive (I can't remember if I booted with legacy/mbr or EFI, please try both). Then I had to follow this guide from the command line:
