Chromebook 3100 replacement motherboard not detecting touch screen
I am getting conflicting information regarding the compatibility of Dell 3100 motherboards. As far as I can tell, there is no physical difference between a motherboard for a non-touch 3100 and a touchscreen 3100. I have been told that the motherboard for each model is the same and when the motherboard is replaced, it should detect if the LCD is a touch or non-touch. Unfortunately, I have tried motherboards from a couple of different vendors and the vast majority of the time, the touchscreen will not be detected. Is there a difference? Is there a flag or something I should be enabling for it to detect the touchscreen?

Chromebook touchscreen stops working, it could be as simple as a dirty screen, accidentally toggled setting, or a basic software issue. One of the great things about Chromebooks is that if all else fails, a powerwash will usually get things back on the right track. That's the last resort though, so make sure you start with the simple stuff and work from there.
