Centera 4.3 - New features

I've read there's a few new features and changes in Centera 4.3, as outlined in the release notes.

I'm intrigued to know more about the "increased object count per node" for Centera Gen4LP nodes.

Does the increase of objects to 150 million objects per node require you have upgraded to the largest capacity drives across the cluster, being 3TB drives? Or is it as simple as upgrading the Gen4LP nodes to Centera 4.3 in order to increase the object count?

We have been wanting this increase for years as we have been using the limit of 100 million objects per node and have a tendency to hit the object count limit well before we reach our capacity limit.

Cheers.

1. nodes should have some capacity available for the bigger database

2. 4TB nodes (with 1TB disks) can support now max 125Mio Centera objects (segments)

3. 8TB or 12TB nodes can be set to 150Mio Object Count (OC)

Thanks. Assuming this works no matter the amount nodes/cubes? i.e. 4 nodes, 8 nodes, 16 nodes, 32 nodes..

Correct! this internal dastabase is distrubuted on the four disks of a node and independet from the other nodes (RAIN: Redundant Array of Independent Nodes;-))
