NDMP error - NX4 & DD160 & TSM5.5

Hi there,

Is everyone experienced a NDMP backup error from NAS (NX4 6.0.70-4) to Data Domain 160? (It is only happening in a 1TB File System, other little ones are running well.)

We can start the request from TSM, snapsure initiates the automatic checkpoint inside NAS (pool has more than 20% free space), but the backup do not initiate and we got an abort message in NAS log:

"NDMP: 3: Thread nasa00 Backup is aborted."

Second action, we tried to make backup to a HP Tape Library. Now the backup initiates (snapshot is created, and it is running for a few minutes but still receives abort command):

"NDMP: 4: Got stat buffer with data pointer=NULL at 1576, abort=1

NDMP: 3: Thread nasa00 Backup is aborted.

Do you have any idea?

Search the Support site for NDMP troubleshooting.  You can increase the logging on NDMP backups to VERBOSE and get more messages.  I'd suspect your error when writing to tape could be a SCSI reserve issue. More verbose NDMP logs might help verify.  There's a KB that shows how to do this - https://support.emc.com/kb/310728

Let us know if that helps!
