MX7000 Template issue
Good day for all!
I have MX7000 system with two MX740c blades.They all have latest firmware installed. OMM Version 1.10.10 (Build A00.726).
I'm facing strange behavior when trying to create profile for sled. It has 2 mezzanine cards, one is QLogic 2x25GE QL41262HMKR CNA and another is QME2742 FC mezzanine.
When I'm trying to create template using this sled as reference device and all parameters are checked, all NIC MACs and FC WWNs were captured as well.
Creating template with all parameters checked
FC parameters captured
But I don't want to capture RAID configuration, so I unchecked this parameter when create another template.
RAID parameters are unchecked
And then I got template without ANY FC parameters!
RAID = FC??!!
Does it mean DELL equals words RAID and FC? Why? They are not the same! RAID option is for local disk configuration when FC is responsive for Fibre Channel Network communication as well NIC config is responsive for Ethernet Network communication.
Moreover, it does have impact on deploying template. To check this I tried to deploy template with RAID config captured and it deploys well with both NIC and FC virtual identities assigned from pool:
What's the problem then, may you say. The problem is because of RAID configuration included it will re-create internal RAID array trashing all data on it. It is not desirable behavior when you want to just apply server profile to get old MAC-addresses and WWNs when migrating him to another slot when device stops working or needs maintenance.
OK, trying to deploy template without RAID configuration - FC identities trashed out.
So the main question is why it is possible to capture only NIC configuration in template but not only FC?
Any thoughts?

Well, Dell support replied that it's known problem in software and it will be fixed in a future releases.
Have a nice day.
