Dell FC630 ExpressCache NVME drives
Is there a way to make the FC630 sled compatible with u.2 NVME drives in the front 2 drive bays? The drive connector fits a "Dell 9H31J 2TB SSD Intel P4510 DC NVME U.2 2.5" but I can't seem to see it anywhere in the system.

The FC630 spec sheet (link below) clearly states that this should be possible for primary storage:
Primary storage
Hot-plug hard drive options:
PowerEdge Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSD, SATA HDD/SSD or SAS HDD/SSD
Up to 8 x 1.8" SSD or 2 x 2.5"
I just can't figure out the settings to allow it to find the u.2 nvme drive.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell and welcome to our community.
If you go through the link below,

Driver specification
I don’t think NVME is supported in this case.

@DELL-Young E Please click on your link you provided called "Hard Drives" and read what it says and explain to me what a "pcie ssd" is, if it is not a Dell Express Flash NVME u.2 pcie ssd...then what is it?

Hello, would this help?
You'll need a PCIe extender.

@DELL-Young E Can you expand on that? What is the PCIe extender? And will that allow u.2 nvme drives in the front 2-bay drive slot in my FC630 servers? That is the manaul I have and that's why I am asking because I need to know how to enable nvme in the front bays...
This in the manual states that it supports two pcie SSDs:
Hard drives
ThePowerEdge FC630 system supports:
• Up to two 2.5-inch, hot-swappable SAS, SATA hard drives or SAS or SATA or PCIe SSDs
How to enable it?
What parts do i need?
I have a PERC 730 mini in this unit...do I need to change it out to a different PERC mini card? Which ones are compatible? The manual states its possible but have found no additional info on it...

Hello, as you can see from here, it’s not supporting U.2 but PowerEdge Express Flash NVMe PCIe (slot type).

For example, (disclaimer: this is just to give you an example, not to lead you to actual purchasing. I do not advise for getting third party part components)
