Guest level backup of a Linux box
Hi all,
I am currently trying to run a guest level backup of a Linux box and getting the following errors:
>avtar error <10542>: Data Domain server "hostname of DD" open failed DDR result code: 5037, desc: illegal operation
>avtar error <10509>: Problem logging into the DDR server: ' ', only GSAN communication was enabled.
>avtar FATAL <17964>: Backup is incomplete because file "/ddr_files.xml" is missing
I can run Image level backups of this client.
I can see the client in my clients domain which would lead me to believe that it has been registered/activate correctly.
Other clients are able to complete guest level backups so son't think it is firewall/port issue????
Any assistance, as always, greatly appreciated.
Neil

Do you still have the client registered as a VM image client as well? That is, were you able to register the same client (VM and guest) with the same name?

Hi Karl,
Thanks for responding.
I have edited the mcserver.xml to allow duplicate client names so thats not the issue I'm afraid.
