Backup taking forever

Question

We have one Linux server that takes 40-50 hours to do a full image backup of 20TB. Given that other servers do not take nearly as long, I was hoping some guidance about how we could increase speed. I followed instructions here https://www.dell.com/community/Avamar/Avamar-backup-performance-issues-analysis/td-p/7064096 and it failed when on the filecache and hashcache switches it didn't like them. Any other suggestions? I'm fairly new to Avamar.

Hi, those settings are for client backup but you write that you're doing image backup so you have to look at the proxies.

You're not telling what hypervisor nor what version of Avamar/proxies you're running , but if the hypervisor is VMware you should start from here: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-ie/000041062?lang=en

Yes it is an image backup on VMware 6.7. I will take a look at that article, thanks
