If your problem hasn't been solved yet I recently had your issue.
It was solved by doing a full uninstall. getting the folders from %appdata% , %programdata% , program files, program files 86 and deleting the things in registry.
I restarted then made a new user account and then reinstalled awcc on that account. My lights are working again on the original account afterward and I was able to delete the created user with no repercussions. I did have to do a repair on the application though to make it appear in my original account.

Pyrog,
Please install the Revo uninstaller from the below link: https://dell.to/3rMIinb
Then, follow the below steps:
1) Use Revo to completely uninstall AWCC and the AlienFX driver.
2) Restart
3) Install AWCC only, and after the install completes, wait 15 minutes, and then restart
4) Use the Windows/Microsoft Store and check for software updates. Install related updates.
5) Restart
6) Install AlienFX Display Smart Installer driver.
7) Again, check for Microsoft Store for alienware related software/updates, and install them.

Hi @Pyrog
Revo Uninstaller free is sufficient. Use this utility to create system restore point, delete application then use Advanced Scan to remove multiple files, folders, and/or Registry entries left on your system. When more windows appear, delete all files, then Restart (not Shut Down) to save all system changes.

Thank you, Siracco!
That was the only procedure that worked for me.
FN+F7 was not working either...
I tried without sucess:
- BIOS 1.8.2
- Cherry firmware update
- Revo

Symptom: No lights at boot / cold turn-on; No power light, no key-board lights, no rear case lights; keyboard does not work at all and requires USB keyboard.
If you have no lights from a cold shut-down -> turn-on, and the keyboard is not responsive, you will have to remove the bottom cover of the laptop, disconnect the battery and re-connect it to fix the lighting and keyboard problem.

Hi @DELL-Jesse L
My out-of-the-box Alienware 17 R5 (i7-8750H, GTX 1070, QHD) Laptop Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews has no AWCC FX tab (and no AWCC Home tab) and fails to detect any of the installed AlienFX devices and fails to detect keyboard per-key RGB lighting.
Revo Uninstaller Free has been used to remove AWCC, but did not fix no LED problem.
Dell AlienFX, v.1.0.36v2, A04 | Driver Details | Dell US did not fix no LED problem.
Where is download AlienFX Display Smart Installer driver for Alienware 17 R5 MLK refresh?
