x14 R1, WiFi not working on 5GHz connection

Alienware x14

Alienware x14

So I have been using this x14 R1 for some months now and I have been having issues  using WiFi. I have an Apple Airport Extreme router and it sends 2.4GHz and 5GHz on demand to any device connected. But somehow on this laptop it just did not work at all. I got another router which sends these frequencies separately and 5GHz connection just connects and says there is no internet. I use the 5GHz connection on my phone, iPad and my girlfriends phones are connected to it. I don't understand what is the problem? Is WiFi card faulty? I updated the drivers, ran hardware and software scans for any errors/issues. I even tried deleting drivers and reinstalling them, did not work. Is there anyone who can even direct me what to do? I don't want to return this laptop as it is my only computer at the moment and I use it daily. I am even willing to change the WiFi card myself if it comes to it. 2.4GHz seems to work fine even though speeds are over 50% slower.

Hi @mrmeat welcome to this free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Support for Alienware x14 (R1) Drivers & Downloads includes the 14 Feb 2023 driver for Killer 1690/1675/1650 Wi-Fi Controller Driver version 33.22.1182, A33.

Using the Microsoft Tool* to Fix Intel® Killer™ Performance...

The Intel® Driver & Support Assistant will identify your products and get driver and software updates for most of your Intel hardware, including Killer NETWORKING AND I/O.

I have separated the combined 2.4 and 5.0 GHz Hub wireless signals and updated the Alienware x14 (R1) notebook Killer drivers to work with both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz wireless signals.

 mrmeat,

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Service Tag and all of your troubleshooting.

Thank you! It seems Alienwares/Dells own software does not recognize that my system has outdated drivers, very interesting how so. I got immediately 3 drivers to update one of which was the WiFi. Now it seems to work again as it should.
