m17 R3, does not charge

Hi @Moro1966 welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.

(1) The m17 R3 Laptop with no battery, is designed to function as a Desktop. Please disconnect the battery, there is no requirement to remove the battery. Insert the ac adapter, does laptop power-on?
(2) If the laptop cannot function as a desktop, does the ac adapter's dc power cord's LED diagnostic light continue to work? Is the DC-IN power plug damaged, check that internal pin wire is not damaged.
(3) If the dc power cord's LED diagnostic light does not work, the DC-IN power socket requires inspection under a bright light for damage or debris.
(4) Open the rear panel, this does not invalidate the Dell warranty. Using bright light, is there any sign of damage, black marks, smell of burning, etc.
