m16 R2, loose power jack
Hello
I bought my m16 R2 back in May. First Dell computer let alone Alienware. While it has a few quirks I've largely gotten used to, there's one that feels like a hardware problem.
My power cord tends to slowly work its way out of the back of my computer. Sometimes it gets out just enough that the Alienhead power indicator shows I'm fully plugged in, but actually running on battery. This usually happens over the span of 3 or 4 days. It also pulls out very easily when moving my computer around and no, its not getting caught on things -its just the inertia/friction of the rest of the cord unplugging itself from the laptop.
Is Dell/Alienware known for such problems? Or did I simply get unlucky my laptop? I don't recall having a problem like this with any of my laptops from other brands over the last ~15 years.

The AC power adapter must be snuggly fitted to the laptop DC in jack. It seems that your AC adapter connector isn't connected to your laptop properly. You will need to either replace the power adapter with a properly fitted connector, or replace the laptop's power adapter port.
Click on Get Help Now button on lower right of this screen to present your issue and receive help from Dell technical support. If the power connection issue will not be covered under warranty (due to components damage, not factory defects), you will need to replace the parts before the power issue further damage to the motherboard.
