m15 R6, thermal pad specs?
Hey,
I have been having issues with my m15 R6. I botched the thermal pads on my laptop when trying to replace them. Can someone help me with the correct width of the thermal pads?
Similar to how it is shown in the image. It’ll be a huge help. Cannot find anything on the internet that would help. The service manual too does not have anything regarding the thermal pads and their dimensions.

Hi @imavichandra welcome to this free user to user Alienware laptop discussion forum. This is not Dell Support.
Dell Support for Alienware m15 R6 Installing the heat-sink assembly does not provide this information because their replacement heat-sink assembly has the thermal pads pre-installed. YouTube has many videos showing how to install thermal pads, but the Alienware m15 R6 is too new.
We all know in hindsight that should have taken photographs of the m15 R6 heat-sink and measurements of its thermal pads during its removal. The photograph supplied is typical of YouTube repasting, and the thermal pad colour indicates its thermal properties and thickness. Should still be able to take size measurements from the original thermal pads.
Please share photograph of your m15 R6 heat-sink with thermal pads. Thank you.

Hello, I know this post is quite old, but did anyone found the specifications of the thermal pads for the Alienware m15R6? I know Dell replaces all the heat sync, but I am not going to change all the heat sync for an ordinary repaste.

@Michele73 Did you find the answers? I put new thermal pads on my laptop, but I think I made mistake regarding choosing right dimensions for pad.
