m15 R5, delete function of keyboard not working properly

Hello all,

The Delete function of my Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 keyboard not working properly. Not sure what is going on but when I press it, seems the key works but the delete function does not.  I tried using the delete button to remove text, emails from outlook etc. and nothing happens.

All my drivers and BIOS are up to date.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi @rla1999  has the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 base cover etc. been removed? The keyboard cable connection to the keyboard-controller board could have been disturbed and the fix would be to very carefully reseat this cable without damaging the connector. Please run F12 ePSA Diagnostic test.

At splash screen please press and hold down the F12 key, the boot menu will open in new window, locate Diagnostics and press enter. When new window opens stop all tests, click on bottom RH corner to open new window, click on keyboard icon and run full test.

on my bosses g16 laptop,  press and hold down fn key and press and release the escape key to lock/unlock the function keys.  look for a lock symbol on the escape key or whichever key it is...
