m15 R5, bricked screen after BIOS update, Red 2 Blue 7

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5

Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5

Downloaded and installed BIOS 1.20 as it was recommended by windows to do. When trying to turn on after this I got the red 2 blue 7 error code which is a display error per the manual. Waited about a week while looking everywhere for a solution from DELL since this is their update that caused this. Constantly tried to call for technical support (Out of warranty support), but every person I talked to said there was no way to prove it was the update that caused this. Besides my computer working perfectly before the update, and then not working after the update, I guess?? I ended up paying about 300$ to get it shipped to Dell and it was a motherboard issue somehow. Does anyone at Dell see anything wrong with this? Because of your BIOS update I had to pay 300$ to have a functioning laptop. Anyways, I probably won't be getting another Dell machine because of how poorly this has been handled. As well as the company I'm directing which has a multi-million dollar contract with Dell, we will be looking elsewhere.

I had exactly the same issue, clearly it was due to the BIOS regardless of what they said as we all didn't magically suffer hardware failures at the same time. Luckily I was still covered so didn't have to pay anything but I'm still waiting for it to be returned (just checked and it seems like my service request is complete). This issue certainly could have been handled better.

Update! After paying 300$ to replace the motherboard last time, the same exact issue happened again after an intel driver update. Thanks Dell!
