M14x R2, different PC OS image, issues

I have recently cloned my [UEFI] ssd drive [GPT]  from a different computer [Windows 10] to my laptop, but now my touchpad is not working/detected, PS/2 Port Touchpad is hidden in device manager. I've tried reinstalling and uninstalling completely. Restarting and it just shows device not working properly with a code 24. What I've noticed is that the older drive from my laptop [Window 7] [Legacy] [MBR] worked well with the touchpad before since it is the original installer cd for Windows 7. I'm guessing it's compatibility issues as the M14x R2 was not yet optimized to run [RAID] [UEFI] on Windows 10.

Hi @SetMyUserName welcome to thid. s free user-to-user Alienware laptop discussion forum.

Please look at the "Windows 10 64bit" Drivers download resource at Alienware M14xR2 Drivers Download for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP (driverscape.com). Hope this helps.

This page contains the list of device drivers for Alienware M14xR2. To download the proper driver, first choose your operating system, then find your device name and click the download button.

UPDATE:  I have no idea what i did but the problem sorted itself out on a normal boot up and my trackpad is working again. I manually downloaded this specific synapsis PS/2 Port Touchpad driver from dell for my M14x R2 this seems to be the only version working for it to run on Windows 10.

R8MHY M14x R2/M17x R4/M18x R2 Windows 8.1 Touchpad driver

The Problem is now solved and I'm running a GPT partition Disk SSD series in this old laptop.

My BIOS is still on standard A10 to avoid the new headaches.
