Alienware Pointing Devices refuses to install
I have an Alienware m15 r1. I bought it new in 2019, and if I recall correctly, the Alienware Pointing Devices application was pre-installed. Well, fast-forward 3 years and multiple Windows re-installs later, I have never been able to get the Alienware Pointing Devices app to properly install from the Windows Store. The error code is always 0x803FB005 which is fairly ambiguous. It leads to a lot of articles about resetting the Windows Store etc. The thing is, today, it's a fresh install of Windows 10 Home. This is the only app with this issue every time I reinstall windows. All the other Alienware and other apps install from the app store fine. This leads me to believe there's an issue with the application itself. There's probably some sort of mis-configured manifest file that says my Alienware is not compatible with this device. I don't seem to be alone in this issue poking around the forums and the Internet. Looking for some help on this one thing as I'm quite at my wits end.
Thanks,
Bob
Presently, the Alienware Pointing Devices app downloaded from Dell support site is 10MBs of bloatware to open a 108 byte browser link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/alienware-pointing-devices/9pps07cs0sp5?rtc=1&activetab=pivot:overviewtab
