Why is my Wi-Fi so slow on my PC?

When I got my Alienware Alpha back in December, the Wi-Fi speeds were perfectly fine and fast as they should be. But lately, the speeds have gotten very bad and slow. I'm getting between 25-100 Mbps on my PC, where on my Mac, I'm getting 450 Mbps constantly. Even connecting through Ethernet doesn't get me over 100 Mbps. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Well, first ... it sounds like you might be confusing MegaBits per second and MegaBytes per second.

Connect each machine to SpeedTest.net (on each WiFi or wired Interface) and bench them all and document.

And some wired machines might only be 10/100, while others are 1000 (Gigabit). I think you have to test only on local LAN to see Gigabit speeds, and you will need to be on a Gigabit switch.

For WiFi, there are settings on the computers, but mostly in the Router. Also, if it's g/n or ac and if you are close enough to use 5g AccessPoint instead of the normal 2.4ghz one.

I can only guess. since both WLAN and LAN are affected. it could be some sort of software limiter.

for example: i have that stupid Killer Network Manager installed. came with the LAN Driver. I could setup priorities if i wanted to.

could be Virus too. check your PC with Malware Bytes for example.

did you install new software lately? some sort of streaming stuff or so?

If it is equipped with Killer Networking networking devices, and if you think those enhanced drivers might be causing a problem (as ‌ suggests ) ...

... I think you can uninstall all the "Killer Networking" stuff (enhanced driver suite, etc.) , reboot, and then see if Windows will detect and load basic drivers for generic Qualcomm / Atheros networking devices.

Don't have any new software. Did a virus scan. Nothing.

i keep thinking but i really can't tell why it happens.

the router you're connected to; is it your own router?

I don't think I have any "Killer Networking" stuff, but if you could supply some specifics, I'd appreciate it

Yep. My router

i guess you tried the obvious things right?
- restart your router
- click on the network icon and then pick troubleshooting. it should reset some settings.
- reinstall drivers.

i have alot to do with network stuff, but i don't know what could cause both, WLAN and LAN, failing at the same time except an error on a software level. especially the 100 MB/ps LAN speed. are you sure you're using atleast Cat 5e LAN cable?

I have restarted the router, but I don't think that's the problem because on my other computer and my phone, the Wi-Fi speed is perfectly fine. And they're all the same distance from the router

okay. what about other stuff? troubleshooting, new drivers and Gigabit Lan cable?

I was just trying to offer a possible explanation.

That is what we were told at one point. But this is Beta, so settings, permissions, and functionality is subject to change.

you're kidding me. right?

TheLarkShark is right. I can't see the Message Button too. Only Follow Button is available.

Also the Point Counter is Broken. Everyone has 0 Points Copper Status.
