There are two things which I believe are linked in some way. Starting on June 22 I experienced a 0x116 BSOD and then 12 others throughout 3187.12 BSOD.png

However these are just restarts, when I booted back up Windows alerted me of an unexpected error, I opened it up, said the error code: 116 and that is was a Blue Screen. To clarify, no actual Blue Screen but just a sudden restart where my computer screen goes blank, audio dies out 3 seconds in, then restart after around 5 seconds. During June 22-June 27, in between there I discovered multiple programs that have access to my video card that show I have two video cards when I physically have only one.

This is strange, but only happened from what I've known after I started getting these blue screens. From what I've heard, it could be possibly that my computer thinks there are two graphics card and using more watts than my power supply can handle.

I also checked my hard disk for errors, scanned for viruses, etc. nothing on my memory though. I haven't dusted in a while either, but I'm planning to today, could the dust buildup be a factor? I have downgraded my driver to the 314.22 from the 320.18 and now I'm currently using the 320.49 Beta Driver. I have not completely uninstalled them.

Here is log of the error:

VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa801272f280, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).

Possible Reasons that I think are the problem:
  1. I did not uninstall the other drivers, but just installed the others through the .exe NVidia provides
  2. My computer shows TWO video cards when I have only ONE, possibly misleading my computer/making it overheat.
  3. I haven't dusted the inside since I bought it(~12/21/11)

Could I get a plausible response? I don't want to be linked the page with the solutions to the error code, unless it is definitely one of those solutions that can fix my problem.

Hi wavierhalo,

Click on the link below and enter the system service tag to get the drivers for your computer. Please download and save the video card driver on the desktop. Next go to device manager and right click on the video card and uninstall the driver. Restart the system and install the driver from the desktop.

With this the BSOD issue will also be resolved. Dell always recommends installing the drivers from the Dell website as they are particularly tested for your computer.
Let me know the status and also provide the system model.

Well, how would I know which one to uninstall? There are TWO shown, bear in mind, yet I only have ONE video card!

Hi wavierhalo,

You may uninstall both the drivers and install again.
