Open Air vs Blower GPU for Aurora R4

Hello fellow Aliens,

I have a question. I am getting a Gigabyte GTX 1080 Turbo, a blower-style GPU.

My question is, for Aurora R4 chassis, what is the appropriate GPU cooler? Open Air or Blower style?

Thanks

Either seems to work fine.

If upgrading to Open-Air style, just remove black-plastic hinged-cover so card can breath and air can mix in case.

Ah, I wish I had asked this, That’s fine though. I have a Gigabyte GTX 1080 blower.

Two more things, how hot is a blower card?

Do I also need to cover the unused PCIe Expansion?

2. You should probably Google " GTX-1080 FE temperature during gaming". The Dell-OEM (MSI Aero) in my Aurora-R6 is a Blower-style , but it's only a 1070. I try to keep it under 83c.

3. No. The front PCIe fan is still doing it's job (bringing in cool air into the case from the lower front).
