How is this fair?
Pardon me if this is the wrong place for this but I need to get it off my chest;
A few years a go I got an alienware x51. The best one and that was I think $2500...Now here's the problem. I checked the alienware x51 today and you can get a BETTER one (substantially better, might I add...) For just a fraction of the cost.
It's not like when I got the computer those parts didnt exist. What gives? How come people can spend less and get more now? I feel ripped off.

As time progresses the parts become older and cheaper. A few years in IT terms is decades.
A GTI x80 on launch maybe £800, the same card 12 months later maybe £500, the new x80 comes out and the previous drops to £300.
With my M18x I paid like £400 ($600+) for the 256gb SDD, the same SSD is £70 / $100 for example.
What you should look at, is equivalents, if you have a 770M and since then the 870 and 970 are now out, you should compare the price of the 970 machine, and so on with other components.
