Any known issues with the 17 R3 and trying to use the Auros 1080 GTX gaming box?

I bought the Gigabyte Auros 1080 GTX gaming box over Christmas for my 17 R3.  I was under the assumption after what I read that the 17 R3 had a thunderbolt 3 port, so I didn't expect to have any issues.  But as soon as I plug it in, I get a "Thunderbolt device functionality might be limited" message as opposed to the permissions window I should get according to the install instructions.  Am I missing something and what can I do to fix this besides sending it back and getting the graphics amp and a 1080?

It is a full fledged Thunderbolt 3 port with 4 lanes (not 2, like some), so you can't do any better.  And this might be a stupid suggestion, but there was an urgent Dell update to the Thunderbolt driver in January 2017 (I think) that was last revised in July 2017.  If you are still using the chipset driver from 2016, you need to update it.  I don't know if this will fix your problem or not, but I would start there.
