Alienware M14xR2: dual display works? How?

Hello!

I'm the happy owner of an Alienware M14xR2 and I'm about to purchase 2 Dell monitors to set up a home office. Right now,. I have a monitor connected using the laptop VGA adapter.

First of all I'd like to know if I can connect 2 monitors to my laptop, and if the answer is yes, how. Reason I ask 'how' is because I know some computers use an adapter to connect multiple monitors, so I'm not sure if I need an adapter, or I can use the ports in the laptop.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here you have a picture of all the left port connections. 1,2 and 3 are the video ports:

Well, that's a start, but they asked to know which video ports can be used concurrently.

My guess would be VGA and either the HDMI or the Display Port. If you can get that working, internal LCD-Panel may/may-not work concurrently (not sure if that was a requirement).

Looks like you will just have to buy a monitor with flexible interface connection options and try it yourself.

Hi Tesla1856!

Having the laptop monitor is not a requirement if I can have the 2 monitors plugged to the laptop. So I think I can try to use the VGA and the HDMI (or Display Port, depending on the monitor I purchase).
