I had a similar problem . After I re installed windows my command center would not work. It kept my color setup but I could not change them at all. thermal controls said "0" and everything was screwed. I tried repairing windows...downloading the latest version of CC. Nothing worked. The dell diagnostic I ran seem to indicate all my MIO board sensors were fine and it could detect the MIO board but the CC utility could not find the MIO board. Here's how I fixed it.
First ..Uninstall the Alienware CC utility using control panel...programs..etc.
Second thing is to have you create a new default admin account on your system.
To enable the default admin account, please follow the instructions listed below:
1. Click Start.
2. Select All Programs.
3. Open Accessories.
4. Right Click on Command Prompt and select to run it as Admin.
5. With the Command Prompt up please input the following command line: net user administrator /active:yes
6. Hit enter on your keyboard and it should enable the default admin account.
Once the default admin account is active, log out of your current user account.
Once logged out, you should see the account listed as: Administrator.
Choose the Administrator account. Go to Dells website to the support...drivers and downloads. Choose your model and download the CC utilty latest version ( I believe it is under "Applications".
Once it finished..I started the CC and all worked fine. I then logged off the Administrator account to my original user account. I right clicked the alienware cc icon and made sure to run it as administrator. (check the box). Now it all worked great. Hope you understood this and that it helps some of you with similar problems.
If you would like to disable the default admin account we enabled, please follow the instructions listed below:
1. Click Start.
2. Select All Programs.
3. Open Accessories.
4. Right Click on Command Prompt and select to run it as Admin.
5. With the Command Prompt up please input the following command line: net user administrator /active:no
6. Hit enter on your keyboard and it should disable the default admin account.
