There is a possibility that the Headphone jack is not compatible with the system I would suggest you to slightly pull out the jack from the computer and check if it helps. In other words try reseating the headphone jack like pulling it half way out. Also make sure that the volumes are raised both on the system and on the player (Like YouTube, Media player, etc.).

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that the headphone jack was not completely inserted into the computer. To determine if it is hardware or a software issue you may try using a known good headphone (if available) and check if it helps. Also try using a different browser and other players to see if the same issue happens.
