AlienFX can't change color after Windows 10 anniversary update

My desktop is Alpha.

Days ago, after automatic Windows 10 anniversary update, AlienFX can't change color anymore.

I tried to reinstall Alienware Commander Center twice and restarted the computer, but the lights still keeped the same.

In addition, no error messages came out.

Hi,

1. It is highly recommended to perform a Disk Cleanup after the Windows 10 Anniversary. To perform a correct Disk Cleanup, please follow these instructions:

Search for “Disk Cleanup”

When the program window opens it defaults to the hard drive where your Windows installation is located. Click OK to begin the initial scan.

After the initial scan is done you must then select the option to Clean up system files (1) and then begin the scan again by clicking OK.

Once the scan is completed Select all the options and hit OK. This is going to erase Windows.old and any other temp file related to Windows Updates, etc.

2. Then follow ALL the steps on the article below to uninstall and reinstall the Command Center in the proper way:

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Eimy,

I tried the two processes you told me, but AlienFX still cannot change color.

After searching the internet, I found some people said that AlienFX should have .net framework to help it change color.

However, Windows 10 includes .net 4.0 and cannot install 3.5

Go to programs and features, then look for Add and Remove Windows features and add the .Net Framework 3.5

Recently I got the message below, however it didn't tell me any useful information:

There was an error while AlienFX Controller was communicating with the computer. This might have been caused due to a problem with the hardware or the software.Try these solutions to correct the issue, in the following order:

- Try to enable AlienFX Controller again. Right-click on the AlienFX icon in the Windows notification area and select 'Enable Alienware AlienFX'.

- Shut down your computer and power it back on.

If neither of these solutions works, please contact Alienware technical support.

This error may also be caused if Alienware AlienFX software is installed on a computer without the proper hardware support for Alienware AlienFX.
