X51-R2, GTX 1070 Ti compatible?
Hey folks.
Essentially, im looking at upgrading my outdated/bust Nvidia GTX 745 / 4gb into a 1070 TI, but i’ve read elsewhere that the X51 r2 can barely handle a 1070, and was wondering how much difference a Ti would make?
I’ve ordered the updated PSU, but wanted to get the take on compatibility here?
Cheers

To run a GTX-1070 or better, you need a tower-case (with room to cool it) and with a conventional desktop Power-Supply.

Its not compatible because there isnt enough power or cooling.

hey I have the GTX 1080 Founders edition running well in my X51 R2 A simple calculation will tell you the board can support a card of up to 200w, here is the youtube video for the NON Believers... A friend of mine has the 1070TI in his.

330W power brick is max so No this is not working EVER.
Max recommended card is 1050TI with the 330W power brick.
The 1050Ti is as good as the 2012 GTX 680.

Agreed. Not sure what is happening there.
I wonder if maybe it's thermal-throttling (down) so power consumption stays minimal and never reached near max abilities. Once you entertain that idea, it comes to mind that maybe Heaven (or it's setting for that run) are simply not giving the GTX-1080 "enough work"?
