Aurora R4, which HDD Bays and Connectors to use?
The Alienware Aurora R4 has a 2x2 hard drive cage. The 4 bays can each take a 3.5" SATA I/II/III hard drive. Only 2 hard drives will work at SATA III speeds. There are two data cables, with each having two SATA connectors.
I want to install a second HDD. Is there an optimal bay and connector configuration for two HDDs?

if you look at R4 mobo there are 4 black sata ports and 2 white ports
the 4 black ones are sata II
the 2 white ones are sata III
if you have two ssd, connect both to the white ports
regular mechanical hdd speed is not as fast as sata III so any port is ok

if you hook up ssd to the two white ports they should show up as sata device #0 and #1 in BIOS.
