AW3821DW, V-Sync off issue with only Hunt Showdown
So in so games, if I don't have V-Sync turned on through Nvidia Control Panel, I get pixel tears. Could my G-Sync module be bad? Should I return? As far as I know it is only in Hunt Showdown it occurs. I can't replicate the issue on other monitors. But as mentioned, if I turn on V-Sync through Nvidia control panel 3D settings, it disappears. What do you think I should do? Heard V-Sync can cause delays. Will attach video of issue.

If it only happens in 1 game, it is likely the game engine.

You're actually supposed to have V-sync on in Nvidia Control Panel settings and off in game settings.

Alright, I also suppose it could have to do with the diffrent types of gsync, this one is ultimate the other one is just normal.

I just saw it in another game. What does that mean? Both diffrent engines. Is this ground for return or do you think it could be a fix somewhere?

Check your actual FPS, sounds to me like your FPS goes past the refresh rate of the monitor, causing tearing. That would explain why Vsync fixes it.
You can also try limiting your FPS a few FPS below the maximum refresh rate of your monitor, to avoid going past the maximum refresh.

Tried that, I have it capped at 100 and hz is set to 144. Also, wouldnt gsync fix those issues aswell?

Gsync is variable refresh rate and it will adjust as needed, but there is a min/max limit it can adjust. It's also possible what you are seeing has nothing to do with screen tearing and it would be motion blur, pixel response time etc...
It's difficult to see what you are seeing. You could also be dropping below the minimum refresh rate it can adjust. Is your actual FPS stable, or does it swing up and down a lot?

Mostly stable, sit at around 70-100. It is possible but then why would gsync fix it?

Gsync adjusts the refresh rate to match the FPS. That monitor has Gsync Ultimate: Gsync comparison
As long as you have gsync turned on it should do it's thing. But there are limits to the minimum it can adjust, and it cannot make any adjustment past the maximum refresh rate of the monitor.

I am saying it's virtually impossible to see what you are seeing. All we have is " I get pixel tears".
Now to me that would be screen tearing, but maybe you are seeing pixel response time issues which is complete different than screen tearing.
Are you seeing this effect: screen tearing screen tearing

I attached a video recorded from my phone allowing me to capture the issue, ill attach it here again for your convenience! https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/comments/zvltj2/weird_pixel_line_issue_i_have_on_my_new_monitor/

After I got my first G-Sync monitor, I was a little surprised how much effort it takes to get it setup properly (for optimal results).

IIRC, Hunt Showdown runs on CryEngine (like Crysis series)..
