Aurora R5, GPU power supply connector 12 pin vs 8 pin for GPU upgrade

Hello,

I want to replace my GTX 970 with a GTX 1070.

My 970 has a 12 pin power supply connector.

The new 1070 has an 8 pin connector.

Do I have the wrong card?  Is it even possible to upgrade?

I am also aware of the higher power requirements.  I am just trying to understand the connector configuration.

Thank you in advance.

970 has two PCIe connectors: 6 pin + 6 pin.  1070 has single 8 pin.  you can use a two 6 pin female to 8 pin male PCIe adapter.

Just to avoid confusion, that is actually a 6PIN + 6PIN. Not to be confused with the latest 12 PIN 12VHPWR connector used to power the latest RTX 4000 series cards.
