Aurora R5, CPU upgrade, power button flashing orange 4 times
Hi, I installed a new processor on my Aurora R5, off the shelf processor upgrade. Previously using an i5-6400 Processor (4-Cores, 6MB Cache, Turbo Boost 2.0, up to 3.3GHz.
Power button now flashes orange 4 times, and the PC wont boot.
Where there any aditional steps required other than physically installing the chip?

I posted on your other thread. Power button flashing 4 amber indicates memory failure. Reseat, test, and replace your faulty module.

@Chino de Oro Thanks Chino, I did check that, they were working fine before I changed the processor. There is 32 gigs in the machine, and I did make sure they were connected.
I will remove them and go back to one sim and see if that helps.
So there are no bios or other things that I need to check?

For BIOS, just make sure you have the latest.
For K processor, verify if VRM heatsink is required.

Thanks, I have a few heatsinks, ill add them to the VRM. your help is very much appreciated.
And ill strip the memory back a bit and see if that helps, It might not like the faster clock speed, maybe?
It great that there are kind people on these forums!!! Cheers.

Usually removing the CMOS battery and putting it back in helps with a lot of these errors.
Also, what processor did you put in it?

@Vanadiel i7 6700k
It works when i drop the ram to two 8 gig sims. Doesn't boot with 4 8 gigs in. All the sims work I tested them all in batches of 16 gigs.
The fan is going mental over the processor.....
So two issues left, can I boot with 32 gigs, and will that fan stop having a knicker fit.

Update bios to 1.0.23 and tried the battery trick.
Still only works with 2 8 gig sims, and fan is on speed.

I have seen this before. Are all 4 memory sticks the exact same?

Also check CPU socket for bent pins or obstructive.
