Aurora R3, GeForce GTX 580 won't update

Hi,

I have Alienware Aurora R3 which has GeForce GTX 580. I have spare GeForce GT710. Am I able to swap it? I try do update for GTX 580 but it always gives me black screen so not sure why? The version I have at moment is driver 388.13. I have searched for better one but can't find one that works.
