Aurora R16, upgrade from Nvidia RTX 4070 Super?

You would also have to take into account power requirements of the video card.

I would honestly not upgrade a 4070 unless you absolutely need more performance. Nvidia offers features to increase FPS rates without needing a higher end video card, like DLSS.

where many users have ran benchmark to measure their R16 systems performance.  This is just to give some ideas of what type of video cards have been used by others and how they were performed.

Still have to agree with other poster about refraining from upgrading the RTX 4070 Super.

I appreciate the responses guys and that's pretty much what I've gathered. It's odd to me that you can't purchase the OEM models to upgrade when the same model with same PSU can come with a 4090.

For example the 4070 Super I received in my Aurora R16 is not on that sale list. I also saw the 4080 version in person. There is no branding on my card or the one I saw which makes me assume it's (EOM). It's almost impossible to find a card that will fit into its case. Dell dose not have any 4090s or 4080s that fit with the case spec I can see with the list you linked. But you can purchase multiple pre builds from them with these cards in them. Its just curious to me I can't buy there modification of these cards for there machine if I want to pay for it.

Needless to say I really appreciate the response by the way. I am just trying to get a full understanding of my options and limitations.

When certain OEM configuration components are in high demand, Dell will keep any excess of the exact same SKU items on reserve for warranty purposes and any surplus will be available for sale after the system is end of service life.

@Rader350​ This is not uncommon, as these machines are not designed to be upgraded. They want you to either specify the hardware at the time of ordering, or purchase a complete new system.

It's the unfortunate consequence of purchasing OEM machines. That is why I always advice to make sure you order what you need, without taking any future "upgrades" into account because it's not designed to be upgradable.
