Aurora R15, Killer E3100 no longer working after Win 11 Pro upgrade

Alienware Aurora R15

Alienware Aurora R15

Recently upgraded from Win11 to Win11 PRO. After upgrading, my Killer E3100 ethernet controller is no longer working and isn't recognized by the system. It's not shown in the initial list of Device Manager but I am able to see it by selecting View -->Show hidden devices however it's grayed out and shows 'Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)'.

I've ensured:

  1. Nothing is wrong with the ethernet cable and works fine with another PC.
  2. Have the latest and greatest drivers and system updates.Screenshot 2023-03-29 154146.pngScreenshot 2023-03-29 154504.png

Turns out the controller went bad and the motherboard needed to be replaced. Dell tech swapped it out and the issue has been resolved.

In Control-Panel / Programs and Features
and/or
Settings / Apps / Apps & Features
Properly uninstall anything related to:
- Intel Killer Performance Suite (Performance Killer)
- Killer Networking (Rivet, xTend, etc.) Killer of Networking
- Dell Optimizer (Network de-Optimizer)
- Express-Connect
- SmartByte

In Control Panel / Device=Manager
- Delete the problem network-card
Reboot computer..

On next start, Windows should auto-detect the network-card and load appropriate (nice lean/basic/fast) drivers.

Test operation.

Went through the suggested steps and removed anything and everything related to the listed items and then removed the Killer E3100G controller from Device Manager. Rebooted with my fingers crossed and no luck...

Scanned for new hardware in Device Manager, and nothing was found.

Updated view of Device Manager. Note that all of the WAN... items are grayed out and reflect the same "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)".
